Mount Eden

Mount Eden is the westernmost community in Saratoga, its western edge backing up to the Fremont Older Open Space Preserve, its eastern edge reaching Saratoga Hills Road, its northern nearly touching Rolling Hills Road and its southern tip extending down to Mountain Winery. This large community is unique because of its proximity to outdoor attractions other than the aforementioned, such as the Picchetti Ranch Open Space Preserve and the Stevens Creek County Park. Both Open Space Preserves are perfect for equestrians, bicyclists and hikers. Stevens Creek County Park spans nearly 1,100 acres, including a reservoir that stretches nearly 100 acres alone. Here also is the location of the Villa Maria Orchard.

When this is the order of the day, the intersection of Saratoga Avenue and Saratoga Los Gatos Road is the most convenient and most extensive location — in fact, it’s the first stop as you drive east out of the community in regards to a hub of shopping, dining and entertainment. Boutiques and shops here include Saratoga Chocolates, the secondhand store Echo, Deja & Co Exquisite Jewels, Skin Prophecy Boutique, the birthday gift store Obsession Box, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Bike Shop, Book-Go-Round and the Golden Mirror Gallery.

Dining in this area is decidedly upscale, including the Plumed Horse, Sent Sovi Restaurant, Casa De Cobre, La Fondue, Hong’s Gourmet, Hachi Ju Hachi, La Mere Michelle and Mint Leaf Cuisine. Then, after enjoying a meal, residents like to take a stroll through Wildwood Park, which neighbors this area of dining, right off 4th Street.
