Gemello is a small Mountain View community just off West El Camino Real between Jardin Drive, Solana Court, and El Monte Avenue. Right within its borders is the very small Gemello Park, and it is the only green space within the community, which also contains the popular and well-maintained Gemello Village Apartments. Homes and particularly condos in this community stand out for their affordability, relative to other neighborhoods in Mountain View,
Gemello is an old neighborhood that has kept its traditional feel while still changing with modern tastes. For the most part this means the homes are larger than they started out, but are tastefully rebuilt. Gamello Park, though it is small, is also very well appointed, with half of its area devoted to grass and the other half devoted to a playground for the children of the neighborhood. In fact, it’s just one reason residents prize Gemello for its solitude and safety.
Los Altos High School is the closest public school, located just south of the neighborhood. However, Bubb Elementary and Graham Middle School also serve the area. Bubb and Graham are located shortly to the east, so they are not inconvenient for parents, though a drive or bus trip may be required for the children of some residents. Beside Graham Middle School is Graham School Park as well, which is devoted to a baseball diamond and soccer field. And for those looking for private schooling for their children, Canterbury Christian and Waldoor School of the Peninsula also serve the community of Gemello.
Downtown Los Altos and Mountain View are both close by and making popular weekend shopping centers. But the most convenient areas for residents to shop include Gemello Village and the Blossom Valley Shopping Center, which is just east of the community along West El Camino Real. However, West El Camino Real also is the home of many shops, boutiques and eateries right outside the entrance to the community. For example, Crystal Florist, Walgreens, Leslie’s Pool Supplies and Performance Bicycle.
