The neighborhood of Fairbrae in Sunnyvale, CA extends from midway through Las Palmas Park to the north, to nearly Vanderbilt Court to the south. To the west the community borders reach Pomegranate Court, and finally to the east these borers reach Torland Court. Torrington, Spinosa, Tilton, and Rockport are just a few of the Drives located in the community, in addition to Westside Avenue, Utica Court and Royal Ann Court. Fairbrae is also home to affluent individuals for Sunnyvale, with the median household income approximately $20,000 above the city’s median. Home architecture in this neighborhood largely consists of ranch homes, a product of Sunnyvale’s development boom occurring in the 1950s.
Fairbrae is known largely for its swim and racquet club located in the center of the community, as well as Fremont High being located a short distance away at the intersection of Sunnyvale Saratoga Road and West Fremont Avenue. Along with having part of Las Palmas Park located within the community, Fairbrae is a standout community; many others, conversely, only have one or in some cases none of these additions located within their borders. Fairbrae also contains a number of private educational institutions, like the Cupertino Co-Op Nursery School, Bright Beginnings Parent Participation Preschool and Appletree Montessori School.
The Fairbrae Swim & Racquet Club is owned by its members and features an 81-degree lap swimming pool and two lighted tennis courts, which were recently renovated. Social events are hosted at the club year-round, including barbeques and birthdays; swim lessons are also available for all ages. As far as dining in the area, the intersection of West Fremont and Sunnyvale Saratoga Road: Thai Pepper Cuisine, featuring vegetarian options like curries and noodle dishes; Jake’s, a sports-themed spot famous for its subs and pizza; as well as Falafel STOP, Longhorn Charcoal Pit — an old-fashioned stop for American meals — and K’s Crepes & Cafe.
Finally, a community just isn’t a community without great local shopping. Three shopping centers sit to the south of Fairbrae: the Westmoor Village Shopping Center, Fremont Corners Shopping Center, and Hacienda Shopping Center. These shopping centers feature a variety of niche and mainstream product and service providers within a couple blocks from the community, including Starbucks, Wells Fargo, 24-Hour Fitness, Fun House Theatrical Costumes, Jamba Juice and Marie Callender’s.
