Welcome to the center of Saratoga, California. This area is divided from its southwestern tip to its northeastern tip by Saratoga Avenue, stretching as far east as South Saratoga Sunnyvale Road, and as far west as Vasona Creek and South College Circle. To the north the community nearly reaches the West Valley Freeway, and to the south its border reaches San Marcos Road.
Downtown Saratoga is prized for its concentration of public schooling — Saratoga High School, Redwood Middle, West Valley-MIssion Community College, and Marshall Lane Elementary — in addition to its number of parks. Heritage Orchard and Gardiner Park are both located downtown, with the orchard also doubling as a museum for the history of the area. Beside this orchard is also the Sacred Heart Church, popular with local residents. Across the street from it is the Joan Pisani Community Center and the Saratoga Post Office.
