The Junipero Serra Freeway divides this community diagonally. It is square-shaped with prominent northern and southern borders of East Homestead Road and Stevens Creek Boulevard. The eastern border of the community is North Tantau Avenue, while the western border is Randy Lane. In the center of this community is Portal Park and Collins Elementary, to the east is the shopping hub, and to the northwest is the Apple Campus. The Cupertino Village Shopping Center to the north, at the intersection of North Wolfe Road and Homestead Road, provides other shopping opportunities, and just outside the community to the northeast is the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Cenimagester, making this community perfect for those with health concerns that may require the most convenient medical care possible.

This neighborhood largely stands out for its great shopping opportunities, which largely revolve around the Wolfe @ Valco Mall. Connected to the mall is the Portal Plaza, a strip mall with eateries and stores, and just below Stevens Creek Boulevard in the same area is an outdoor retail shopping center called the Marketplace, beside which is the Idlewild Shopping Center. Stores at the Valco Mall include Sears, the AMC Cupertino 16, Sports Action, Macy’s, JCPenney and non-anchors like Claire’s Boutique and Bay Area Bridal. Inside the strip mall and outdoor shopping center to the south are a number of eateries including Olarn Thai, One Pot Shabu Shabu, Pot Sticker King, Kong Tofu and BBQ Korean Cuisine, Elephant Bar, Red Hot Wok, House of Falafel, Wingstop and Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, amongst many others.

Besides Collins Elementary, Lawson Middle is located within the community, near the Apple Campus, while Cupertino High is located to the southeast. Overall, parents who live in this community can easily transport their children to school each day, while spending a minimum amount of time accomplishing the task. There are not nearly as many private schools in this area as other surrounding neighborhoods, but the Saint Joseph of Cupertino School and the Bethel Lutheran School provide a couple options for residents who prefer this type of education.
